Look and Live

John 3:14-15 (NKJV)

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should [a]not perish but have eternal life.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should [a]not perish but have eternal life.

Brothers and sisters, when snakes bit the Israelites, God did not give them medicine, formulas, or rituals. He gave them a promise: look at the bronze serpent and you will live. It was an act of trust. It was a simple glance that declared faith in God’s mercy. Centuries later, Jesus said, “That’s what I’m doing for the world.” The cross became heaven’s pole of mercy.

Faith today still comes down to a look. It is not just a casual glance of religious habit, but a focused look of repentant trust. When you feel stung by sin or weighed down by guilt, you don’t need to heal yourself before coming to Christ. You just come and look. Look to the cross where sin was defeated, and in that look, you will find life.

The world offers many quick fixes, but there is only one Savior. Healing doesn’t begin until our eyes turn to Jesus for trusting. When He is our focus, our faith breathes again.

So, lift your eyes up today. Don’t look back in shame or sideways in comparison. Look upward to the cross. It’s not the worth of the looker that saves, but it is the power of the One looked upon. And know that the promise still stands: everyone who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Come as you are today.
