Mission

Our mission is to outreach to our viv ncaus who have experienced loss so that we can provide emotional support, spiritual encouragement, and resources that lead to wholeness in Christ.

Vision

We envision a body of Christ where no one grieves alone.

Values

Compassion—listening, relating, understanding, caring, and supporting those who grief without judgment; fostering a lifestyle of hope, strength, and courage.

Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is our source of comfort and strength.

The pain of grief is intense and lingering, calling for ongoing support. Personal stories possess the power to inspire and encourage.

Spiritual wholeness is not dependent on our actions, but on an acceptance of God’s acting on our part in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Thus, it is this journey with the Almighty that one can become whole.

Definitions

Grief—The process of deep emotional sorrow, caused by someone’s death/loss [kev tu siab, kev nyuaj siab]

Loss—Feeling of grief when deprived of someone or something of value [plam tej yam uas tseem ceeb hauv lub neej]

Mourning—The expression of deep sorrow for someone who has died or lost [kev quaj ntsuag]

Scriptural Foundation

We are guided by the following passages as our foundation:

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction.”—James 1:27a-b.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”—2 Corinthians 1:3-4
